Act Now to Protect Our Great Lakes

Governors, scientists, and stakeholders created the Great Lakes Compact in 2005 in order to protect the Great Lakes from outside threats, while allowing us to responsibly manage the lakes for local needs.  This year, our state legislators will vote whether or not to implement the Great Lakes Compact and we need to be sure that they pass it.  The Great Lakes Compact is necessary to protect our Great Lakes, and our legislators should support it. 

We need you to tell your legislators to support the Great Lakes! Here’s what you can do:

1. Write a letter to the editor. Legislators read the letters to the editor in newspapers in their districts to find out what their constituents care about. Please write a letter to the editor of your newspaper.
2. Contact your legislators. A hand written letter is best, but a typed mail sent through the mail, email, phone, fax, whatever the method, contact your legislators and let them know that you want them to pass the Great Lakes Compact.
3. Make a gift to Clean Wisconsin Action Fund. Clean Wisconsin Action Fund is dedicated to protecting the Great Lakes and we need both your voice and your financial support. Simply send a contribution to the address below.
